Ok... For my final major project I chose to design and produce three outfits based around corsetry (and other victorian undergarments) and the Zodiac.
Baring in mind I have never made a croset before (ever) this is the second I have made for my project. It isn't nearly as good as I wanted it to be but I am still quite pleased with it overall.
The front has washers sewn onto it to give a fish like look, the woman who is modelling it has a tiny little waist and quite a large bust so I made it to accomodate that...
The back is laced up at the moment with purple ribbon, but I will be going out to get proper laces for it on tuesday.
I'm just glad I finally have it finished.
I would really like all kinds of feedback. No-one I have spoken to so far has given me any constructive criticism and I would really appreciate some so I can do a better job next time.
Come'on! the washers looks really make me think about the fish's skin. And, I don't know which color to use at lacing... but this one it's not completely porper. Can you get a green one with silver threading?

This is really neat! but, when i originally looked at i thought the bit with the washers was the back, and the other side the front. i almost like it more that way. what do you think? see what i mean?

Thank you. It took me ages to find washers that were right against the fabric... the fabric is actually more of a turquoise than the picture shows and I was planning on either a silver or turquoise lace. I guess combining them is actually a good idea! Thanks I'll keep an eye out for some ribbon like you described.

Thats a great suggestion but the back wouldnt completely cover her chest and I'm not sure if she'd like that The front has been decorated so the point the washers make lies just beneath her bust. I'm going to try and get a photo of her wearing it next week.
I'm thinking of making a future corset that laces up the front and back as a lot of people seem to like those best... and I have ran out of busks
Thank you for your comment

It really is quite lovely, though I'm not usually a fan of corsets that only have lacing up the back, as they take forever to get into/out of and you can't put them on alone. So...the look is gorgeous, but it's not terribly practical.

yeah its going to be fun getting the model into it for the fashion show - especially since she is in high demand throughout - but my reasoning for the back only closure is that I wanted a bodice more than a corset "look" because I wanted the stiff smooth "underbelly" so-to-speak like a fish.

What kind of pencil shall I use?
2B or not 2B?
I've been quite skeptical about it myself... thank you
