When the Universe hands you a lemon

Mon Apr 20, 2009, 1:11 AM
Suck it up and just make lemonade.

I have discovered that it is entirely possible to make a corset a day if I work at the speed of a madwoman, so this 6 month challenge thing might go ahead yet. As Jane pointed out I will need to order materials in before hand and will therefore need all the orders/samples booked/planned in advance. This was fine with me and I was about to start ordering today, only someone has stolen my card details and therefore my bank has closed my account for the forseeable future.

That wouldn't be a problem of course if I had a business bank account, and I am in the middle of setting one up. Only I don't want it to be with Lloyds because they are sh**bags when it comes to banking at the minute. Nasty nasty waspish snakes is what they are.

So today I am making metaphorical lemonade and (since I have sort of already done my corset for today by finishing an older one) bathe in the sun. Oh yes, I might even go to the allotment and poke the newts/pumpkins. I am going to try my very hardest to not hink about corsets and money ALL DAY because I am gradually ruining my life.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I really do believe that all thieving sh**bags should have their tongues cut out. Or their fingers cut off. Eitherway is good for me.

Barclays are good. Apart from when they charge you 22 quid for going accidently overdrawn for literally 5 mins. but all in all i've never had any problems.

hmm, i should set up a business account really. but i have no money to put in it lol.

Yeah, with Abbey you only need to send a cheque for 50 quid along with your application... But for some reason I never filled out the application, can't remember what was stopping me..

Perhaps tongues and fingers would be the best best *evil cackle* I know what you mean - bankers are the proverbial rhyming word that we all think they are :giggle:

But I just have to say I was like  when I heard you had an allotment, me and my parents have one and I get all excited when other people do as well  I'm an allotment geek - who'd of thunk it eh?

Anyway, I'm sure the bank thing will resolve itself, I'm having a pain with Barclays right now - and my friend who takes economics with me keeps mocking me with his safe money - he banks with the co-op and reckons its the best thing since sliced bread haha!

Chin up love, just think of the good bits ^_^

Must say I have only heard good things about co-op and seriously considering moving over to them!

Our allotment was completely overgrown and wild this time last year, we've done so much to it and I really hope my pumpkins take! I'm not very green fingered. I usually go to help out with digging and rotervating (I'm brill at that!). Didn't picture you as a garden geek in all honesty, but it's cool that you are. We can be garden geeks together!

Me too to be honest, they seem to be the only bank in the country that isn't going belly up over being a bunch of thieving guttersnipes!

Aw, we only got our allotment last year as well :D it's amazing how far they can go in such a short amount of time - from zero to hero you might say :D I've gone a bit mad this year and bought loads of weird seeds - purple carrots and french beans?! Oh yeah  I love rotervating - my dad bought one and we just love it - make life so much easier!

Haha most people just look at me a bit oddly when I say I'm into gardening, but I do love it, and I try to convert people to it :D and even suceed sometimes haha!

Abbey are pretty good - one of the few (along with HSBC) who didn't get a roasting earlier this year.

Sorry to hear about your banking problems, hope they're sorted soon and that the thieving b*st*rd who stole your details ends up deeper in the sh*t than you have ever been! What goes around comes around...

Hope the allotment is doing well, ours is looking good, carrots, onions, potatoes, garlic, cauliflower, cabbage, brocolli and lettuce all in and doing well, next market we'll get the tender planst peppers, chillies, aubergines and courgettes, maybe we'll try some melons this year...
